  • Bilbo Baggins: Caught up on a missed post Hera, your reply from Bilbo is next promise <3
    June 27, 2020, 08:01:13 PM
  • Guiga: As for the old Lake-town plot. It was about a revolt against the Master by the people due to taxes and such one year before the events of the movies. It was very interesting.
    June 27, 2020, 06:07:49 PM
  • Guiga: I did write you a PM just after Becca’s. Strange. It was very late that night and maybe I forgot to hit send before logging out, but that character is on hold. So don’t worry.
    June 27, 2020, 06:05:33 PM
  • Dory: (Her being Galadriel. Dunno what happened there.)
    June 27, 2020, 07:59:49 AM
  • Dory: I'm Katja's writer, so I'm defo curious. Also, I was reading that new app and I just want to let it be known that I also play her and even though I'm busy right now, I'm happy to be messaged or shouted out if she's going to be needed or used for something.

    June 26, 2020, 12:12:45 AM
  • Gard:'re certainly welcome to try to revive any plots you want, but doing a quick check over the Directory I think Bard, Katja, and Oliver are the only adult characters in town :D Let me know if I missed any one's characters
    June 25, 2020, 12:55:28 PM
  • Guiga: I was wondering if I could reopen or restart from scratch that old plot about the rebellion against the Master of Lake-town we used to have a long time ago and which would be best. I’m not even sure how many inhabitants of Esgaroth we have in play anymore. I’ll have to look into it, but that was an interesting plot.

  • Hera: Amarthal's lovely, dear. Thank you. Just one problem, you just killed Berthrien's whole family! Elladan would never leave her alone in the wilds after that. His talk to Elrond will have to happen a lot before I first imagined because he'd take her to Rivendell as soon as she was able to travel. Something I'll have to think about later.
    June 24, 2020, 09:55:40 PM
  • Guiga: I posted a very bare bones application because I expected to have problems with it like Hera and Marbys had, but everything worked just fine for me. I'll finish her during the week.

    June 21, 2020, 03:38:13 PM
  • Gard: Same Yay and No Worries. I was planning on getting one more Nauroval reaction in either-way :)

  • Marbys: *is on the way...
    June 21, 2020, 02:57:19 AM
  • Marbys: Sorry, Gard and Ari. I totally forgot about our thread!!! How could I? Next time I’m on the desktop, that’s the post I’ll be writing. Help in on the way for Nauroval!!!

Going Once, Going Twice, Sold!
« on: September 12, 2015, 06:48:39 PM »

As with most days in the sleepy rural region that was the Shire, the sun was high in the sky, beaming down on the crops and villages below, casting its shadows playfully through the woodlands that scattered the area. Glistening beams of light shone down, glinting playfully off the morning cobwebs that hung lazily, not a care in the world, from between the branches of trees, and from the washing lines of the Hobbits who occupied the fair land. As the day had gone on, the dew had dried, and the activities of the day had begun in earnest. Diminutive Hobbits, their numerous morning meals finished headed out to tend to the fields, milk their livestock, and see to their days business.

Of course, after such a laborious day of work, many a Hobbit needed a hard earned pint at the local tap-room to wash away to aches and pains of hard labor. One such Hobbit, getting on years, was on his way down to a venue such as this, so commonly found in the villages and settlements of the Shire, even now. Leaning lightly on a walking stick, the head of which he professed looked like a duck (but only if you looked at it from a very specific angle of course). Having spent the day ordering his associate, a Hobbit by the last-name of Burrows, around, to prepare for the evenings auction that would be taking place in the 'Green Dragon', and ensuring that the paper work was in order so as to prevent a repeat of that nasty incident with the Baggins family last month.

Grumbling to himself - for Hobbits of his advanced years oft permit themselves the odd grumble, indeed many enjoy it - about how unfair it was that Mr Bilbo Baggins had to return at that precise time, he made his way down the winding road to the 'Green Dragon', a sheaf of parchments under his left arm, containing a list of all the items on sale today. It would be an auction of various locally crafted goods, and of course, ales and livestock, with some special merchandise just in from the town of Bree today.

Gently he opened the door to the 'Green Dragon', stopping once inside to remove his tall hat, before heading up the barman, and asking for his usual beverage, a pint (maybe two) of Honeybrew Beer. Taking the large pitcher, he made his way up to the small auctioneers stand, taking out his pipe and priming it with tippling of Fungo's Fuzzy-Leaf, placing the full pipe on his stand as he checked through the list of items for todays auction.

Satisfied, he grunted to himself, before producing a sign from one of the many sheaves of parchment, and plonking it on the front of his podium. A sign which read:

''For Sale by Auction

Crafts and Livestock from Hobbiton and Bywater, Various.
Pipeweeds and Stout Ales from Stock and Tookland, Various.
Items from the Settlement of Bree, Various.

Four O'Clock Sharp, August 5th

Messrs Grubb, Grubb & Burrows

Registered Auctioneers''

His sign in place, he cast his eyes around the room, before lightly tapping the gavel on its stand, and saying. ''Good evening Ladies and Gentlefolk, welcome to the Auction, kindly hosted by the Green Dragon. Do make sure you've got a full tankard before we get stuck in. We've got a wide range of goods up on offer for you today, which you can see around you and are listed on this lovely board right 'ere.'' he said making a gesture to the sign beneath him ''Now, before I start, have I missed anything?''
