  • Bilbo Baggins: Caught up on a missed post Hera, your reply from Bilbo is next promise <3

  • Guiga: As for the old Lake-town plot. It was about a revolt against the Master by the people due to taxes and such one year before the events of the movies. It was very interesting.
    June 27, 2020, 06:07:49 PM
  • Guiga: I did write you a PM just after Becca’s. Strange. It was very late that night and maybe I forgot to hit send before logging out, but that character is on hold. So don’t worry.

  • Dory: (Her being Galadriel. Dunno what happened there.)
    June 27, 2020, 07:59:49 AM
  • Dory: I'm Katja's writer, so I'm defo curious. Also, I was reading that new app and I just want to let it be known that I also play her and even though I'm busy right now, I'm happy to be messaged or shouted out if she's going to be needed or used for something.

  • Gard:'re certainly welcome to try to revive any plots you want, but doing a quick check over the Directory I think Bard, Katja, and Oliver are the only adult characters in town :D Let me know if I missed any one's characters

  • Guiga: I was wondering if I could reopen or restart from scratch that old plot about the rebellion against the Master of Lake-town we used to have a long time ago and which would be best. I’m not even sure how many inhabitants of Esgaroth we have in play anymore. I’ll have to look into it, but that was an interesting plot.

  • Hera: Amarthal's lovely, dear. Thank you. Just one problem, you just killed Berthrien's whole family! Elladan would never leave her alone in the wilds after that. His talk to Elrond will have to happen a lot before I first imagined because he'd take her to Rivendell as soon as she was able to travel. Something I'll have to think about later.
    June 24, 2020, 09:55:40 PM
  • Guiga: I posted a very bare bones application because I expected to have problems with it like Hera and Marbys had, but everything worked just fine for me. I'll finish her during the week.

NICKNAMES (IF ANY):  Airhead, bookworm, Pigtails
DATE OF BIRTH AND AGE (AS OF T.A. 2941): 38 (13) T.A: 2903
PLACE OF BIRTH: The Iron Hills
RACE: Dwarf
GENDER:  Female

HAIR COLOUR AND APPEARANCE:  Her hair is blonde, and curly. She's still young, but there is a slight hint of a beard coming in around her face. When she's at home, she usually keeps her hair down, or pulled back into a ponytail. But, when she goes out, she puts them in low pigtails.
EYE COLOUR: Light blue on the outside, but with hints of hazel near the pupil. Otherwise her eyes are dark blue when she's feeling moody or sad, and light sky blue when she's happy and content.
BODY TYPE AND HEIGHT:  For a Dwarfling who still has some growing to do, she's fairly 'normal' sized for her age. When she grows up she'll stand about 3'4" and be fairly well rounded, we'll say.
OVERALL APPEARANCE:  Éir likes the color yellow. It makes her feel happy, and because she likes to feel happy her favorite attire is a yellow dress, snuggly boots, a warm cloak accompanied with a cute hat of her liking, and her satchel which she often carries books in. Any other sort of clothing she's seen wearing is because her yellow dress in the wash.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS:  None, except maybe a few scuffs and bruises from being bullied, or playing hard with the other kids
WEAPONS: Knowledge? I don't think that counts though. As far as weapons go she doesn't carry any! Aunt Sassa doesn't let her run around with knives.
FACE CLAIM:  Sophie Nélisse

STRENGTHS: Imagination, cooking, orderly,
WEAKNESSES: Rude (when she wants to be), a good book, or an adventure that might get her into trouble
ASPIRATIONS:  To be like her Aunt!
FEARS: The dark, she has to have a night light to sleep by when she goes to bed
PERSONALITY:  Please aim to write a couple of insightful paragraphs on their personality, it will help others come to grips with the character. How does one even begin to explain Éir? She’s quiet, and likes to keep to her books. Sometimes I think it’s impossible to write more than two-hundred words about her, but I must try mustn’t I?

Eir is very… perceptive. She’s mature for her age, and doesn’t like to be lied to in front of her face – or behind her back for that matter! She’s got a very low tolerance for boys her age, and since living with Aunt Sassa, she’s developed a tom-boy-ish flare, with that little bit of growing young lady. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, and tell someone what she really thinks of them, and that makes her very rude indeed, sometimes, though, only sometimes.

Eir is loyal to her family and friends, and would like nothing better than to see her Aunt find a husband who would care for Sassa, and of course for her, herself. She would never Aunt Sassa date someone she didn’t like, and that makes her controlling, but it is only a phase, and Eir likes to think of it as being honest that she doesn’t like the man that Aunt Sassa has been seeing – if she’s courting anyone at all! Sometimes it can come right down someone simply looking at her Aunt a certain way that only little kids see and forget about when they get older.

But now, being a young Teenager, Eir has grown an annoying knack for match making! She’s like the Emma of Erid Luin. Ha, except she hasn’t really tried her hand at matchmaking totally yet, but does enjoy a good juicy bit of gossip! It makes for interesting conversations with Aunt Sassa.

In the end, Eir just wants to aspire to be like her Aunt, but in her own way. She’s still growing and finding things out about herself, and finding that her personality changes as she grows older, but she isn’t afraid because why should she be? With such a strong woman like Sassa in her life, there really isn’t anything to be afraid of… except maybe finding that some Dwarf-Lad might catch her eye and sweep her off her feet one day, and lets not forget... they say the only way to a man's heart is through his stomach! It may be her cooking that sweeps him off his feet instead.

Éir was born a lovely child. She was quiet, as an infant, didn’t get into much trouble and was all set to be labeled ‘the quiet one’. Her mother, an Iron Hills Dwarf, married a Dwarf from the Blue Mountains. Éir’s father hails from the Blue Mountains, and for as long as she could remember – which hasn’t been for very long – Farin never spoke about his family back in his home. When Éir was old enough, one day, she asked her father about his side of the family, and why they never went to visit! He simply shrugged as he prepared dinner and said ‘You wouldn’t like them anyways.’ When she tried to bring it up to her mother, she would grow cold and silent, pretending she never heard the questions.

The relationship between Éir and her mother was a loving one! Their relationship blossomed, and her mother shared with her daughter a love for learning, and a love for cooking – although it is not Éir’s strength, she thinks she can do pretty well in the kitchen! Éir’s desire for adventure flowed from her father’s side of the family. Since Farin did not have a son – as of yet – to take hunting and fishing, and the like, he took Éir under his wing and told her that while she should be diligent in learning the trade that most Dwarf Women did, there was no harm in learning how fish, or learning how to tie knots. In the spare moments when Farin was home, he spent them with his family.

It wasn’t long until Éir gained a little brother! At first, she was very, very skeptical about having a little brother. After being the only child for so long almost wasn’t fair that her mother should be pregnant again and take away all the joys of being an only child. But, as most little girls do – unless they are rather unordinary – the minute Little Éir saw her baby brother, she changed her mind completely, until that first night when he cried non-stop, disrupting Éir’s sleep, and then she decided that “This wasn’t going to be easy.” Her mother nodded as she tried gently rocking the baby back to sleep.

As the years went on, and things weren’t going as planned. Her mother’s side of the family were mocking Farin, saying he wasn’t doing any good just simply trying to do his trade (being a smith), but that he should do something more productive to prove that he was loyal to the people of the Iron Hills, and to King Dain. So, to silence not only his nagging wife, but his relatives as well, Farin joined the Iron Hills Army, swearing loyalty to King Dain.

Not even going to lie, everyone was very pleased with this, and didn’t know what all the fuss was about. Éir’s mother was very proud to raise her son, and was adamant about them spending time together while she taught Éir the ways of the house, instead of fishing and tying knots! “Ridiculous that a respectable woman should go about doing a man’s work!” She would said while she tried to teach her daughter how to sew and keep house. All of which Éir found quite dull and boring, but she put up with it.

Éir’s life would shortly be turned upside down! When news reached her mother that he father had died by the hands of Orcs, she went into full on mourning. She didn’t come out for days, and when they received a letter from Sassa, her mother was quick to respond with news of his death, and that she was sending Éir to live with her… without telling Éir. She would be separated from her family and the beautiful stone halls that she knew to go and live with a stranger. It would not be for many years that Éir would find out that her mother sent her away because she couldn’t afford to keep her, and believed that her daughter would have a fairer chance if she moved in with her Aunt in the Blue Mountains.

Journeying from the Iron Hills to the Blue Mountains was tough, and she slept most of the time missing the landscape between the mountain ranges, protected by the people that her mother hired to keep her safe and well. Mostly old family friends who traveled between the two – ah – empires. Nothing was told to Éir about what it would be like to live with her Aunt! She didn’t know what to expect, and to be honest she dreamed that her Aunt was … regale and proper. A total nightmare, honest! And – by all accounts – when Éir caught sight of her fiery red hair and elegant dress, and instantly was weary.

The passing months would prove to be difficult as the two would attempt to get used to each other. Aunt Sassa would prove to be an interesting person to watch in a public setting. Her bubbly personality threw Éir’s quieter one. She missed her mother, and the closeness she shared with her, knowing she could never have that with an Aunt she never knew she had. It’s funny how Time works, though. Slowly the two have started to warm to each other, and Sassa has been known to be called Aunt Sassy, but only by her niece, and only in privet or in front of close friends who don’t mind. All that remains is to see how the two will further warm to each other.
