The Misty Mountains This is a great mountain range that runs from north to south. Over the centuries it has become steadily more perilous to travellers, with Goblins, Orcs, Trolls and other dark creatures making it their home. In this mountain range lies Moria, or Khazad-dûm, a Dwarven city and mine that was abandoned in in T.A. 1981 due to the emergence of a Balrog.
